Juan Pulido, John Stinebaugh Earn Lip Chip Jockey, Trainer Honors With Big Week

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 24, 2024–Former top rider at Remington Park, Juan Pulido, and conditioner John Stinebaugh, were named Lip Chip Jockey and Trainer of the Week for their efforts April 18-21 at Remington Park.

Pulido, who won the riding title in 2021 at Remington Park with 46 wins for the meet, won 5-of-24 starts last week and finished in the money (first, second or third) in 11-of-24 times. The pinnacle of his big week came on Saturday night when he won three races.

Major Upset By Rompe Corazonez in the $56,075 AQRA Turf Paradise Presidents Open Futurity

PHOENIX, AZ–APRIL 25, 2024–Rompe Corazonez, who qualified with the third fastest time in the trials, isn't breaking hearts today. The two-year-old bay filly pulled off her victory with an upset in the finals of the $56,075 AQRA Turf Paradise Presidents Open Futurity on Thursday afternoon.

Jockey Joseph Belloc Jr piloted Rompe Corazonez to her first place finish in :15.843 seconds clocking a 89 speed index against an 8 mph headwind. After a bumped start, she held well leading the field from wire-to-wire and crossed the finish line 3/4-lengths ahead of Bartlett. The longshot's 300-yard victory paid $42.80 to win on a $2.00 wager with 19/1 odds.

Revised Qualifying Times Posted For The John Deere and Adequan Derby Challenges At Sam Houston

HOUSTON, TX–APRIL 25, 2024–On Friday, April 19, Sam Houston Race Park hosted six trials for the John Deere Juvenile Challenge(G3) as well as three trials for the Adequan Derby Challenge, with the ten fastest qualifiers advancing to the final on Friday, May 10.
